The CERT Train-the-Trainer Course is a three day, 23 hour course designed to prepare participants to deliver Federal Emergency Management Agency’s CERT Basic Training course.
There will be homework assignments in the form of teach-back preparation which may require you to stay past 4:30 pm or arrive earlier than 8:30 am. You must attend all three days for certificate.
PREREQUISITES:
The prerequisites for attending the CERT Train-the-Trainer course include:
- Must have a referral from the participant’s CERT Program’s Sponsoring Agency. If the
participant is from a new CERT program please email the State CERT Coordinator at CalOES: suuva.tai@caloes.ca.gov for an exception.
- Must have completed the CERT Basic Training course (verified by certificate or the sponsoring agency)
Please Note – Special exceptions to the CERT Basic Course requirement may be made on a case-by-case basis for participants that have taken the CERT IS-317 course and have an extensive fire or police background.
